Chere Vought

The missing piece How we started:

A Plan For Senior Care was born from personal experience. Founder Chere Vought had spent years helping hundreds of families find senior care and housing, but it wasn't until she faced the same journey with her own mother and grandmother that she truly understood what was missing.

A full-time working mother of three, Chere found herself overwhelmed by far more than just finding a place for her loved ones to live. There were legal concerns, financial questions, insurance details, medical needs, and real estate decisions — all tangled together, all urgent. Even with her industry experience, she didn't know where to start or what to prioritize first. What she needed was someone compassionate enough to understand the full picture, and knowledgeable enough to create a clear plan.

That experience became the foundation of A Plan For Senior Care. Today, Chere and her team of experienced advisors do exactly what she wished she'd had: they listen to each family's unique story, untangle the complexity, and walk them through every step, from first conversation to a loved one settling safely into the right home.

Meet our team.

Every member of our team has personal experience navigating the senior care system for their own family. It's not something you can teach, it's something you live.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does A Plan For Senior Care get paid?

A Plan For Senior Care is compensated by the licensed facilities and agencies we represent. Those facilities are prohibited from charging referred individuals more because of our involvement, and we do not solicit, receive, or accept gifts or referral incentives from any facility or agency we work with.

What's the difference between assisted living and memory care?

Assisted living communities support seniors who need help with daily activities (meals, medication, personal care) while still maintaining significant independence. Memory care communities are specifically designed for seniors with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive conditions. They have secured environments, specially trained staff, and programming built around cognitive support. We help you understand which is appropriate and when, based on your loved one's current and likely future needs.

How do we know when it's time to consider senior care?

Common signs include difficulty managing medications, increased falls or near-falls, confusion or memory lapses, difficulty preparing meals, neglect of personal hygiene, or social withdrawal. Many families wait longer than they should. The earlier you explore options, the more choices you have. We're always happy to answer a "just checking" call, even if you're not sure care is needed yet.

We're not local to Southern California. Can you still help?

Yes, we assist families throughout California. Many of the adult children we work with live outside of Southern California and are managing this process remotely. We can handle research, phone consultations, and coordination on your behalf. For local tour accompaniment, we assist families in the greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas, but we work with out-of-area families by phone and email regularly.

Let's talk about your family's situation.

A short call is all it takes to begin. Our advisors are ready to listen.
